WOW or WIPs with Esther
1/4 of 2018 gone!!!!! where did it go who stole it from me??????? I do know this week went past in a blink of an eye while we coped with torrental rain constantly, Monday night to top it all we had 16inches in 4 hrs from 7pm till 11pm now that was scary!!!!!!
The above is why I have not done any applqiue the last 5 days? I took this video yesterday at 1pm it was much higher at 6am .
Two nights that the storm was bad and I needed some thing to really concentrate on and to forget what was happening around me I decided to make a tiny house that Nancy had been trying to coach me in to making Tiffany’s TinyHouses with her? So I decided this was the right time!

Making tiny tiny wee houses to forget the storm raging out side. My machine, My lamp, behind machine my scraps, to my right my ironing spot and iron, in front of it my round cutting board and rotary cutter ALL set to go and I don’t have to get up at all for ironing, scraps or cutting.
A treasure I bought at work yesterday, a very very beautifully hand made crazy patchwork bag. Last night I spent one hour threading and pulling threads that had worked loose and now its as good as new!.
I find it hard to believe in 3 days time we will in to April and 1/4 of this year has gone!!!!! this is where I was last week on my Red and Green quilt

Made up another block with stems and another one waiting to be machine appliquéd down. I’m appliqueing all the stems down first.

Here I have 3 completed blocks with there stems appliquéd down and the leaves ironed down waiting to be appliquéd down.
Another treasure? Not sure why some one would pass this on to a thrift shop but it was, It is a completed piece of tapestry and so beautiful stitched, I feel in love with the colours, workmen-ship and style.

How beautiful is this piece of art. I think I will make it in to a carry bag as a gift for some one I knows who will love it.
Today early this morning in the garden after a 5 days of rain, we had more rain in these 5days than we do normally for the whole of March??????

This drain had to be dug up in the pouring rain as it was blocks with roots from the fig tree????? all 4 metres.

This is meant to be a sand pit around the fish pond??????? lots of work to get this back for the Grandies to play in?
Below is Tumric.
Lots of cleaning up to do now. but I did manage to catch up on my mail and write my blog today. Going to link up with Esther’s WOW or WIPs now. Thank you all for visiting .
Cheers Glenda
Dear Glenda,
I see the pictures of the falls and am shocked by the amount of water!

The applique blocks will be great. I hope see more next week!
Greetings, Marita
Hi Marita, it’s been a hectic week past as we have had so many storms. Hopefully that will be the last of the rain for this monsoon year, but they are now saying we may get a worse one next week! Sure hope they are wrong. Going to start another wee house now, they are fun to make but take soooo long to make Cheers Glenda
That was a lot of water in 4 hours, I can’t even imagine it! Your red & green blocks look lovely, the center flower really pulls everything together. Don’t try to clean up the garden all at once and push yourself too hard. Blessings!
Dear Glenda
You got all the rain! We finally got 5ml yesterday, for the whole month of March. Normally get around 40ml. Love your berries, those falls remind me of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Who gift all their beautiful treasures? Crazy patchwork and a lovely tapestry.
Take it easy cleaning up in the garden.
so much water, those falls – that is spectacular but I’m sure not wanted. And I thought in February we had a lot of rain 13.5 inches but it was spread out over 10 days.
Love all your hand work all the beading is so very pretty. Thanks for sharing so many photos of your work and your part of the world I love seeing them.
Oh my that amount of rain is just horrendous / terrifying. We are clearly in to a cycle of climate change on this Earth 🙁 And our moronic president here denies it.
Nice to see your beautiful work / coping mechanisms though 🙂 As the Bible phrase says ” beauty from ashes ” 🙂
That is a lot of rain. I wouldn’t have thought so if you hadn’t shown what it normally looks like after a rain. You have a lot of sewing going on to keep you busy right now but seem to be making good progress on the applique.
Goodness! I’m surprised you have internet at all with all the rain, and glad to see you fared pretty well. Nature is fierce, and it takes a storm like this to make us appreciate its strength.
I have to say how beautiful your embellished bag is! I will also pick little things like this up from our thrift, but admit I might not be as good at making the repairs they need. You did a lovely thing by bringing it back, Glenda.
