Wednesday rolls in again???? How quickly the days and go when you are a quilter. there are never enough hrs in the day to fit in sewing time?????

Where I was up to last week on making this wee quilt, it was only going to be a wall hanging or a cot quilt but it keeps growing!!!!!

curt the bottom left hand block with the butterfly in it and turned the block so the butterfly is up the right way now!!!!

There were a couple of nasty wee brown stain just behind the lambs tail so I’ve added a the fish and the fish’s tail covers those stains. Need to sew on the blue border first then iron him in place.

Starting by making my fish with irononfussing ironed on to a Teflon sheet. Find this an easy way to make these added applqiue pieces.

Used a black thread to do it’s eye, gill, and mouth. Now just need to do the top fin???? But first need to pull those threads and tie them off???? I’m all ways amazed how long the machine applqiue takes, I sit down for an hour and two hrs disappears?????
As I was walking around the garden I spotted this crucifix spider he just caught a tiny caterpillar in his web, so quickly he was on to it and I watched fascinated as he spun it round and round in his web????? then carry it back to the centre of his web????
Thanks for dropping in. My weeks go so quickly now, I some times run out of time, and I guess it’s the same for every one else, so do like seeing you have stopped by. Cheers Glenda
The fish is so cute! I can understand about a quilt becoming larger than planned. I so enjoy the garden visits. Happy stitching!
Hi Gretchen, garden is full of colour this time of the year before the wet comes and drowns every thing and turns it all to mush. It is very very late in coming, just hope its a quiet wet and no cyclones???? Spring is heading your way but is slow coming too. Cheers Glenda
I was in the grocery store on Monday admiring all the tropical plants in their little pots and thinking how nice they would look in my house before reminding myself that they usually end up dying before long except the geraniums. I have been overwintering about 20 for years and years. It was warmish here this week, that means just above 0C and the 6 year old found a caterpillar outside so brought it in so it would not freeze. Today she took it to school to release it in her mother’s front yard so it can meet new friends. She has not yet discovered the snail in one of my flower pots.
Sounds like another entomologist growing in your family LOL Look out snail!!!! It’s so wonderful when children care about the creatures on this earth big or small. Your geraniums must love you, 20 years is a long long time!!!! Happy sewing when you can Chris. Cheers Glenda .
