Another week has come and gone and it is WOW on Esther’s blog so I blog to join all the other quilters there. So a big thank you Esther for all the lovely contacts you give to me each week, where I’m able to admire others art. learn and share. This last week has been a good sewing week for me with more sewing done than normal. Mostly spent on my PNG quilt.

I felt my PNG quilt now needed a border to tie it all together, I had just enough of the main fabric to make a 7inch border all around this is not sewn on yet.
Then last night I felt it needed more?????

Last night I was thinking my PNG quilt still needed more! May be some leaves in the border so made up a wee sample.

Went to bed and thought What if???? I add a large flower in the corners then the leaves, so out of bed this morning and made up some flowers and made this sample up, yes I like that?

Final border is not sewn on just lying there with the flowers and leaves lying there too, Im having fun this morning.

close up you can see the flower and leaves are just lying there. These are just randomly placed. I will number them now I like how they look.
I have also had a little time playing with my NZ quilt.

I have been working on my NZ machine sewn quilt also but it is slow going as I find it difficult to use the machine for more than 30 mins at a time or day.

That is an old woollen blanket I have on my work table it stops the pieces of fabric from been blown off by the fans.
I’m on track with my Quilty365 circles and not starting my next 9o

Here I have my next 40 Quilty365s laid out ready to be sewn. a pile of 30 waiting to be hemmed, a pile waiting to be appliquéd on and some freezer-paper circles ready to be ironed on to more fabric? Oh yes one of my LE borders I’m working on too????

Our tree frogs are finding the dry season very tough on them, but last night we had a huge storm and lots of rain so they will all be happy now.
Off to take some photos in the garden, I know there is a lovely orchid in flower. Just been for a quick walk around the garden and taken the below photos.

Living here in the tropical rainforest means endless cleaning, we have at least 3 piles a week like this, some fronds are around 1 metre long up to 4 metres long and they constantly fall.
Off to join with Esther’s WOW and read your links.

Thank you for dropping in to my little part of this amazing world.
Cheers Glenda
the leaves are perfect in that border
Thanks Chris you have made my day, so we will go with them after getting such a swift positive response LOL
Those leaves are so pretty they deserve their own solid border so they really pop out!
Hi Marjorie, I did that on a black back ground border one year using only green fabric and only using the fabric once, it was quiet a challenge as there were over 500 leaves LOL. Thanks for dropping in. Cheers Glenda
love all the quilts that you show and the 3d work on the border is awesome! you are always so busy with your work
Hi Karen, you are one quilter who motivates me to keep at my quilts, when I see how many quilts you finish and ALL hand quilted it amazes me. At present the extra hand work at present like the circles and leaves is just what I need. Hugs Glenda
Oh my goodness! What a lot of wonderful projects! That decision to add the applique to your PNG quilt is inspired – it looks fabulous! Hope that you are having fun with all the different calls on your time and creativity.
So lovely to see that lovely greenery in your garden, along with the little frog and the marvellous blooms too, of course. Thanks for sharing your little paradise with us!
Hope you carry on having fun this week too!
Hi Plum lovely to hear from you, I dropped in on you yesterday, my goodness what a wonderful Quilt your girls made, I love the Gallon ship they made wonderful design. I have started basting the leaves ready to be appliqués on, did some last. Night and have to sit and wait a lot today so will hopefully get another 20 done to day. I caught a wee marsupial this morning, they look like a large mouse lovely soft brown fur and very very docile and don’t run away or attack you, they are a native to here, I wanted to take a photo of it to share but my wee dog thought it was a rat and wanted to attack it, so I took it out in to the rainforest and watched it hop away much to my dogs dismay.LOL. Hugs Glenda
Love your applique border idea, very pretty. I enjoyed the tour of your garden, the plants are lovely. We are getting 7 – 10 inches of snow dumped on us today. Oh well, spring will come sometime in April. Blessings, Gretchen
Hi Gretchen welcome back home, I have decided to add the leaves after all comments back have said yes so sat and made a flower and 20 leaves last night. Now making 4bigger flowers to sit in the purple triangles as they look so naked to me and it will also give those sections added strength as the fabric is about 100 years old well worn and a very very fine wool. I’ll iron on a fine iron on vi line first though. Hugs Glenda
Oh wow you have a lot of projects on the go and all gorgeous. And those flowers in garden beautiful we only see those in florists here. Just now we have a blizzard outside. With 80 kill.winds blowing around.. Hugs
Oh Wow Bunny 80 kill.winds sounds dreadful!!! It must be so so cold out side, how wonderful to be snug and safe inside, one can not imagine how the settlers survived in these conditions and much much cold further North?? I use to lover easing books about early Canada and Alaska and just could not believe that women raised families there? Hugs Glenda
