I have family arriving from France in 3 hrs time so cheating this week and using my UFOsin2017 I did on the 1st Oct and I will add photo’s Ive just taken in my garden and a delightful find I had yesterday
This amazing yo yo’s jerkin was at the opp shop yesterday WHAT a find?
Think of the hrs of work to make them all then sew them together it fits me and I LOVE the colours.
How luck was I these are not quiet an inch across!!!!!
Well I’ve completely gone off the tracks with my 3 weekly working on a new one of my 17 quilts I choose in Jan!!!!!!! I set my self a goal I may have been able to keep if I did not do any thing else!!! what did I do in Feb start not 1 but 2 new big BOM’s for 2107. I kept on track till 1/2 way through the year then it was all over as far as only working on one quilt for 3 weeks. Where am I up to now? Lets see what I did this month.
I have a wee friend nearly 3 years old coming to meet me from France on Wednesday and I have been working on her Quilt most of this month.
The start of Lucie’s quilt. These blocks were made in a swap group 9 years ago, and I decided to make them in to a quilt for Lucie and have called it Lucie’s friends having a party.
I had a lot of fun adding all these strings and balloons I hand sewed all the bias ribbons by hand one side and machine appliquéd the other side down.
I couldn’t find a nice piece of soft fabric for the backing in my pile of fabrics so took a soft piece of calico spray painted it with some dyes I had from Japan then turned the hose on it all while it was hanging on the clothes line LOL
Close up of Lucie’s friends, I have sashiko quilted Lucie’s quilt it was quick and fun to do.
Back Of Lucie’s quilt I have all most finished quilting it now.
Close up of the sashiko quilting but difficult to take a photo that will show it clearly.
An all most completed quilt I have 2 days to finish the quilting.
I did get side tracked during the month my concentration span is not so good LOL
I started this quilt years ago made from a lovely old linen table cloth that was my grandmothers. It was badly stained and I could not get it out, I was able to get this many squares from the good areas. I love circles so here are some more, I came across these while looking for some miss placed triangles for my Secret Garden BOM I’m doing this year!!!!!!
SO another block finished and only 9 to go now LOL
I have also been working on these wee triangles for my Mystery BOM for 2017 of Esther Aliu’s Secret Garden I have missed placed 4 of these so may have to remake them if I don’t find them soon !!!!!!
I also pulled my Hearts Desire quilt top by Esther Aliu that I started 9 years ago and have it lying on my spare double bed, have not doing any thing to it but it’s lovely to see it there waiting for me LOL. I had to put it away again as visitors are arriving and need the bed LOL
I also bought some more black fabric for this piece so it has grown by adding the black corners.
I did finish the last panel of my crazy 1930 panels in Aug.
Plus I did more joining of these quilt as you go blocks!!!!
So when I see it all here I have achieved some thing after all!!!!!!
Thank you SO much Meredith if it was not for you I would not have achieved any of these!!!!
Happy stitching to you all and hope you are doing better than I on your 17 items you choose in Jan!!!!

So many projects in progress! Love Lucie’s quilt. Enjoy meeting her, she’ll love her quilt!
Hi Glenda! Yes I have kinda fallen off the wagon since January too lol but I’m thinking all progress is heading in the right direction and sometimes you really have to follow that creative pull? Your quilt for Lucie is just gorgeous, that dyed backing is amazing – is there no end to your talents?! Your applique work is so beautiful, I am totally in awe! Congrats on finishing your last panel of your crazy 1930’s quilt 🙂 Happy stitching!
Helen
