This week went to toooo!!!!! quickly for me. So I’m going to have to make this blog go quickly also? LOL. Things that are just around me is my blog today?
A very very beautiful black fine lace shawl
A wall hanging almost finished doing sashiko quilting on it?
Lying around so I might finish it?
A finish waiting to go in the mail
A 1960s jewel box has a new lease of life for me?
It now holds prepped applique leaves LOL
Lynette Anderson’s design, love her whimsical designs she is a Australia designer.
I’m working on part 5 of my HOTYH at the moment all most finished, was hoping to finish tonight but remembered I needed to do my blog?
1930 Grandmothers garden on my day bed , I’ve been hand appliqueing this for years???
So that’s it for this week, no garden as it’s pitch black out side, it’s 11.30 pm now?
Thanks for dropping in as I know so many of you are so busy in your gardens or summer travel now. I’m off to link to Esther’s WOW or WIP’s
Cheers Glenda
I LOVE the hexie. I have a pattern for this but I dread all the hand piecing.
You can sew these hexes by machine Denise, takes a bit of practice but if you cut them out true to size and sew a perfect 1/4 inch seam they grow very quickly. This is from 1930 so did not sew all of these hexagons just the border ones to finish the quilt then started hand quilting it. Cheers
so many lovely things – have fun working on them!
Hi Karen, I just need to finish a few of them Karen???? But I think of some thing else and I’m side tracked ???? Going to try and work on at least one of them today but it is all ready 11am and not a stitch or house work done???? Thanks for stopping as I know you are just as busy as I am. Cheers Glenda
Wow! You have been productive!
Over many years Angela LLLOL Most of these just need to be finished, but I get side tracked so easily LOL I also don’t machine quilt, I’m trying to teach my self!!!! and I no longer can hand quilt for more than 20 mins at a time some times not at all. Hands have arthritis??? SO nothing is been completed??? I’m hoping I work on the flying Brolga”s to day???? and finish a mens tie bag????? Wish me luck on those LOL Cheers Glenda
There is something about that 1930’s green. It probably has a name – or several, but it sure puts those old quilts in the right era.
Interesting thing about the green Alison, when I first received this unfinished gem the green was still dark, so it must have been stored for 70 years in a trunk out of the light, as I have been working on it the last 17 years!!!!! it has faded at least 50% as I have left it lying and hanging around to get rid of the mustyness, I can not wash it till it is completely quilted. When I first started quilting it, Id only work for 30 mins max and wore a mouth and nose mask????? Now I can sit and quilt it with no problems.!!!! Thanks for dropping in Alison. Cheers.
So much loveliness, Glenda! I am especially fond of your Hold Onto Your Heart; it’s looking majestic!
Hi Rebecca, thank you so much for dropping by, I just found your message in side 30 Spam messages, there are so many creeping through my shield now? Just about to start on Part 7 of HOTYH. Little worried about mak8ng up my wee houses? all though now I have printed off the pattern they a double the size I was think they were, so need bigger scraps of fabric LOL. I’ pushing my self to try and stay up to date with my two BOM of 2019 of Esther’s but it’s a lot of time, but I love them both so much, I’d love to stay on track with both of them. Cheers Glenda.
