A very low week on sewing. During the week I went shopping for some iron on fussing but they did not have any, but this some how was in my bag when I left the shop? LOL must admit they are all small pieces?
Love full blooms for Borderie Perse?
Fabrics for applique each piece is 10inchs square.
Borederie Perse fabric
Fillers such lovely colours
Have started to sew down the tiny birds on one of my WIL blocks.
Starting to double blanket stitch down my tiny birds they are less that 1inch square?
Tried a few colours before I finally choose this one to applique them down.
How I make tiny tiny circles the below ones are smaller than the top of a colouringing in pencil. You need to use batics or silks so the threads don’t unravel.
First cut squares with a good 3/4 inch around the circle shape.
Draw a circle 1/8 th from the edge of the circle Then do a running stitch on the line around the circle make sure those stitches are only 2 or 3 threads or it won’t work if your stitches are big, I use a number 11 needle and silk or bottom line thread.
running thread starts and ends behind the fabric.
cut away the fabric only leaving a scant 1/8th of fabric outside the stitches.
use some thing that is smaller than the circle to hold the template in place then pull thread in and around it.
Pull thread tight and gently remove the pen or pencil and slowly pull in thread and sew a knot . Gently work in to a perfect circle with you needle and fingers?
Back of the tiny circle
Some finished wee circles rightside up and pulled in frills under neath the circles.
Those tiny circles are appliqued down here.
Off to link with Esther no garden photos this week.
Thanks for dropping in.
Cheers Glenda.
very pretty applique you do it so neatly I think! I can never get a tiny enough stitch to look like that when I have tried. Love all the fabric that followed you home 🙂
Hi Karen and thanks for dropping in. This time of the year I’m meant to be relaxing and doing very little but the rain has not stopped which means the vegetation keeps growing like the triffids and theres endless work to be done so we don’t disappear in the growth????? SO my sewing is suffering, its all most nil machine applique. Just wish it would stop raining, it will soon be the rainy monsoon season again ???? We will need to grow web feet LOL I have so many WIP’s I really need to work on or even finish???? Cheers Glenda
Hi Glenda,
Wow! Love those tiny circles! Now I need to think of a project that I can incorporate such tinies into! Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,

Thanks for stopping by Barbara glad to see you are human LOL, I will be in hospital for 10 days so 7 of those will be rehab so then lots of sitting around or lying around, I will be making lots and lots of bigger red circles to work add to my grape blocks, I have a thing about circles all ways have??? Did a challenge one year one circle every day it was no challenge as I loved doing them LOL Hugs Glenda
Your stitching is impeccable Glenda. Those birds!!!
xx Linda
Loved the tiny bird! Your skill with machine applique has become excellent! Sorry you’re getting so much rain, especially since it’s not the rainy season. Hope you aren’t having problems with mold and mildew in the house. Happy Stitching!
What a nice collection of fabrics! Those florals are lushious. Makes me want to go shopping for new treasures, but both my cupboards and my project list are full.
