Most of my mornings around 5.45am start like this, so beautiful to open my eyes and see such a beautiful sight! But this morning the horizon and valley were covered in dark clouds and mist was covering the river.
Now 15 mins later I can not see any blue sky so looks like a wet day coming up. If only we could send our rain down to Victoria and NSW where the fires are burning? I was at the beach last week and was watching the swimmers wash them selves down on the edge of the beach under a public showers and though how sad here we can run a tap for hrs and down South they have NO water??????
Did say I thought 2020 was going to be a great year, well it’s flying by so fast I might miss most of it? All ready two WOW or WIP’s up and I have nothing to show except things from the past!
One of my challenges this year is to make my 1st Baltimore centre’s.
One of my challengers this year is to start a centre in Baltimore, my first one so it will be a interesting challenge. Here you can see part of it over a light box, I drawing the design on to my back ground fabric. .

I came across a box that has things in it from 20 years ago and plus. Only need to complete one more wee block and join them to make a wee Christmas wall hanging? Great to have my hanging hoist Rod that hubby made me, this large piece of black felt works perfectly as a wall board. .
Now hanging from the hoist!!! A quilt to be started when I first was learning applique.
Was a wee sample centre I made when learning applique in Papua New Guinea around 1993?
Then I wanted to add a boarder, so started to make Dresden plates big medium and small ?
I just kept on making Dresden plates! using cardboard templates and all hand stitched?
More Dresden plates and started to applique them on to strips of Beautiful navy kimono fabric
Till finally I had a border? Then it was time to work on my animal and fauna blocks of PNG. This quilt top is for one of my sons and his wife who lived up in PNG for some time and live in Cairns where these blocks come from .
Showing blocks just pinned, they are pinned down the sides but they will actually hang sid3 ways over the side of the bed? But for now it was easier to pin hanging so I could take photos of them to share!

I have a free drawn flower border for the top and bottom.
Hopefully I will get to walk around the garden later to day so I can share that with you too. Happy sewing All. Cheers Glenda.
I was hoping you would blog and let us know if your area of Australia was safe! glad you have no fires near you. Have you heard from Esther and know how she is – is she still with her daughter and hope her area is not on fire either – your projects all look fine!
Hi Karen thanks so much for dropping by. Yes we are all safe up here or as safe as possible. We do get bush and scrub fires but nothing like they are having down South. Yes Sadly Esther is still at the hospic with her DD. Glenda From a devastated OZ>
I look forward to seeing the progress on Baltimore. The ‘old’ applique is so pretty, those dresdens are perfect! I love the candlewicking blocks. Such lovely projects.
