I’m glad Wednesday has 24hrs in it??????? I seem to be writing my WOW later & later in the day each Wednesday. May be when the family leave I will be more organised but don’t count on it!!!!!!
I helped my DGD 13 complete her 2nd shirring dress today
. All she wanted to do this visit was to make a shirring dress. We made a sample dress first from some fabric I had, this turned out so well she has lived in it over the last 2 weeks!!!!!
My son spoilt me & with DGS’s help swept the leaves off the stone gardens
then racked the whole of our top yard; as we are in winter here the leaves are falling fast so this will save me 3 or 4 days work. DDIL cleaned my light fittings & fans these are the things I find difficult to do now. DGD swept the patio while I watered the patio plants which are so pretty at present with lots of different colours
. It is lovely having the colour around the house as we cannot grow any bulbs or flowers in the yard as the wild life either eats them or digs them up!!!!
My patchwork is on hold at present but is sitting beside my chair waiting till life slows down a little, I’m embroidering my drops in my hearts at present as you can see I have not finished my buds yet too!!!!!
I have 8 more hearts to do!!!!!!!
Just on dusk DGS Liam 9 plays his trumpet below the house looking across the river & rainforest for us;
he plays each day around then; it is so lovely hearing it echo across the valley.
Well that’s a little of what I did today. If you click on the photo’s you can see enlargements. Cheers Glenda
She did a great job on her dress! I would be intimidated at trying shirring.
Lynette we found that it is mostly about winding on the shirring elastic, it has to be wound on with just a little tension, if to much it will break & if none it will not gather. We did it on my 830 Berina which is yunks old but sews beautifully. Paola did ALL the shirring her self by marking all the lines first then sewing over them.
WOW, Glenda, you live in an amazing place! A rainforest on your doorstep.
You will have your DGD doing applique next. She is such a clever girl and so pretty too.
Can’t wait till you work on your Heart’s Desire once more.
I forgot to say: thank you for your lovely comments on my blog.
Oh your Granddaughter did a spectaluar job on her dress. I love it when the young ones want to stitch. It is so much fun to teach them too. Your rainforest is amaing with your orchids etc. Not sure I would want the wild life eating my bulbs LOL. I so enjoy your posts. Bunny
the trumpet is my favorite instrument. the yamaha is a great brand. it is kind of hard to play but some of you should try. by the way I am a child.
