Well after my dramatic start this morning at sunrise watching the Full total eclipse on our veranda
Our eclipse was in the middle of this horizon this morning off our front terrace!!!!! Stormy clouds have gone sun has risen so it is not shinning directly in to my lens and it is a perfect day after watching an amazing full eclipse!!!!
sitting watching it in our chairs through welding masks!!!!we have ended up with a perfect day.
Now it is back to my normal Wednesday I hope. No beach as the city is full of thousands of tourist who have flown in to watch the eclipse this morning.
Total Eclipse this morning at around 6.15am Sun is dead centre of this photo.
So may be I will go tomorrow when it has calmed down.
This morning I have my DS quilt laid out for a new piece of fabric to be added; I have two corners to repair!!!
Have to remove the pink fabric???
Pink silk fabric removed, you an see the last boarder now that I have unpicked the rolled edge I have done till I finish the quilting of this quilt. This is one of the reasons this fabric has pulled as DS has been using it for 7 years 365 days of the year with out the quilting been finished plus washing it once a year????? One other corner needs repair also.
This corner was repaired 3 years ago!!!!!
Update 1pm I so happy I found some more pink fabric similar but a crepe silk and it will wear better. Corner now repaired using my sewing machine on the seams. I will quilt it before doing any other projects. It is sandwiched with a tag tacker. One down two to go?????
I finally finished my Vienna quilt, I did an average of 3 1/2 hrs each day this week and added the last blanket stitches last night.
All applique now finish on my Vienna quilt!!!!!
Endless blanket stitching but I always enjoyed working on this quilt.
Recipient of this quilt grew up on a island near the Bahamas so LOVES colour; I have used contrasting threads through out to enhance the fabrics.
Waiting for it's final boarder before shipping to new owner?????

Of course! I knew there’d be some serious quilting progress on your WOW as usual Glenda, an eclipse isn’t enough excitement already!! Love the Vienna quilt, looks stunning.
Beautiful quilt!!
Love your Vienna quilt, but can you tell us why it is called “Vienna”? Just curious, lol
Hi Pat It is going to a wonderful, caring, beautiful inside and out women who lives in Vienna. She grew up on a island around the Bahamas so colour means so much to her but living in Vienna and been a professional business women it is black or grey worn every day to work or formal evenings and outings, so this is for her to come home to and warm her heart during the summer and her body during the winter> It will be quilted in Holland. Cheers Glenda
Ahhh! – Jacaranda is in Bloom – MUST be nearly Christmas!
That Vienna quilt is gorgeous and your stitching just beautiful.
Love those orchids too. All the leaves are off our trees so winter is coming but it has been a gorgeous Fall. Hugs Bunny
Hi Glenda,
You are spoiling us with two posts today! Yay!
Love your Vienna quilt. You are so generous to give it away.
May I ask who will quilt this in Holland?
Morning Anne Marieke. No I don’t know but I asked you a few months back about commercial quilters in Europe and you said there were a few in Holland. So I’m going to track down some one for her. Do you know one I should recommend to her?????? As I’m a hand quilting on not up to scratch in this area. Hugs
Hi Glenda,
As I wrote to you by email, I visited a quilt show today and promised to keep a look-out for you for machine quilters. Unfortunately the only machine quilter there (Elly Prins) didn’t have her work on show.
I remember though that last time I went (to Deventer), there was a lady there who did machine quilting and her work was lovely. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of her work. I will dig out the card I took with me and will send you the details.
I have no experience with machine quilters in Holland, but have heard of several: Elly Prins, and North Sea Quilters.
There are several really good ones in Australia. Why not have it quilted there?
Hugs,
Anne Marieke
Postage seems to have a habit of never arriving when sent to Europe from Australia, I have had family living in Vienna and have friends in Germany and Switzerland and to many of the parcels I have sent have never arrived, so I’m sending it by private luggage to Japan and mail from there NEVER goes missing. Postage from Australia now is crazy, a couple of Kilo’s is $65.00!!!!! We don’t have sea freight any more. Hugs
