I’m sure we all feel the same that the weeks are sneaking in faster and faster even my grandchildren 13 and 15 say the same thing.
To day I will be leaving very early to be driver for a lovely couple as one of them has to visit the local cancer clinic for treatment. I have pre done my blog for today and I hope to upload it before I leave this morning.
This week I have been working on making more of my Zig Zag pieces for the border and sewing down my first 1/4 of them.
First I tacked where my Zig Zag border was to stitched down then pinned the Zig Zags on these points I'd tacked.
SLowly working on appliquéing on my ZigZag border.
I'm appliquing the Zig Zag border down at the top and bottom of the ZigZag at the same time using two needles it is much easier this way and the threads do not get caught on the pins.
Close up of the two needles been worked as I go across the Zig Zag border. These are number 12 needles shorts. I'm removing the basting stitches I used to baste the fabric around the iron on washaway if you zoom in you can see on the right it has been removed I'm also stitching down the centre of each join like quilting so the middle of the Zig Zag is not floating.
This is where I'm up to now and today I will be making more Zig Zags for the other 2 sides of my Centre. My hearts are not appliquéd down yet i have to make the reverse peep holes first then appliqué them on to the backing fabric.
A walk on the wild side???? this is a photo of a spiders nest where the babies have all hatched out at once, this spider had made her nest on the end of a crow bar!!!!!!!
Baby spiders just hatched out waiting for a wind to come through and carry them away on it????
Spiders nest on the end of a builders crow bar, not something you really want there??? LOL
two tiny insects, they a attached to each other and move around like this, one goes forward and the other follows it backwards then the other one goes forward and the other follows backwards, they are the funniest wee creatures to watch, both are around 1/4 of an inch long and so so colourful. I found them in the grounds when cleaning up it is only the second time I have seen them in 17 years.
One morning you can walk around the grounds and there is no colour then the next there is colour all round you.
A wet miserable day this morning from my kitchen window.
This is a cross stitch wall hanging which is in the waiting room of the local Cancer clinic. I asked if I could take a photo of it this morning.
Every time I visit the cancer clinic I stop and admire this beautiful piece of art, I don't think many people realise it is all done by cross stitch. It is a thank you to the staff from a family who attended the clinic
I’m looking forward to reading every ones links when I get back from the hospital this after-noon over several cups of tea!!!! Cheers Glenda Australia.
what interesting looking bugs you have there in the tropical climate you live in! love the garden photos and plants. Zigzags were a problem for me at first but once I had them figured out they went fairly smoothly
Your zig zags are great, but those spiders are not LOl too too many bugs LOL.
Always interesting Glenda.

Ooo great your zigzags and lovely part 3 pieces! I’m glad my zigzags are finished I don’t think I’ll make the next one…
Have a nice day,
groetjes van Marijke
It is Always so interesting to read your blog. You live amongst some pretty interesting creatures. Wouldn’t fancy those spiders myself, and would pass on any jobs that needed a crowbar.
Your LE is coming along beautifully. Great going on those zigzags. I’m working on my third side today.
Hi Glenda. I loved those bugs. I told my daughter about them, and now she wants you to march out into the garden and send them here to Canada for her bug collection! LOL
I too am trying to get my zigzags finished. They take longer than you expect, don’t they?
Hello Glenda, I so enjoyed your post! Thanks for sharing the progress you’ve made on your lovely LE quilt. Perfect zigzags! Your background fabric is most interesting, too…I don’t believe I’ve ever seen any quite like it. Looks like knit in some areas and velvet-like in others. The spider photos are amazing! Reminds me of the children’s book, Charlotte’s Web! And, don’t you just want to make the Cancer Clinic’s cross stitch design into a quilt?! If you go there again, maybe you can take a few close up shots. Love it!

Glenda – I’ll take your rainy day view AND your spiders any day! [but you can keep the humidity 😉 ] Hugs.
What progress, this is going to be a stunning heirloom, full of wonderful details Glenda. Doesn’t time fly? I never stop saying that, how can we fit in more time doing important things? If only I knew. I love your zig zag coming along here. Uch, those spiders are a bit much, too many for me!
Glenda, your photos of the garden and beach are so lovely. I admire the area as much as your lovely quilt!
I must have missed those gorgeous cross stitch pictures. What works of art. Wish I could see them up close.
Hugs Bunny
While I don’t have the patience currently to even start on the LE quilt, I am following the progress everyone is making, I did, however, get a belly laugh at your “miserable wet miserable outside your kitchen window” picture, that’s exactly what I’m looking at from my kitchen window NOT!!! My view are the bricks from the neighbors house next to me, 🙂
