Quilters never seem to have enough hours in the day regardless of how old they are. When you first start most of us had to find time between house chores and children. when you finally retire you have to find time between volunteering work and grandchildren LOL. But find time we do.
This week I have slowly sewing the tucks I have had to make on two corners of the quilt I’m repairing then quilting for one of my family.
One block with the quilting completed
I have just started adding more quilting to this block.
I have removed blue ovals from the corners which were appliquéd to the green silk which has sadly perished and now have to replace the silk and appliqué the blue ovals back on.
One completed quilted corner.
Top cream calico panel for some reason over the last 1 2 years has stretched by a 1inch so have taken a tuck in it. This has happened to two corners, I have sewn the tucks in with very tiny stitches so when I quilt over this area you will not notice where the tuck was I hope??????
We had major septic problems as we have had so much rain, garden bed here has just been completely emptied and we will put an underground drain under it to take away the heavy rain falls from building up near the septic and hopefully this will solve some of the problems.
There is still colour around in the garden.
First of the desert Rose flowers.
Mandarins are nearly ripe enough to eat.
In a few months time you will not recognise this area
I have been fighting computer problems all day, it would keep locking up, and after endless booting I waited till DH came home and then he spent ages trying to solve the problem. I hope it is solved now.
Off to link with Esther on her WOW or WIP’s http://www.estheraliu.blogspot.com
Thanks for stopping be. Cheers Glenda
We have so many clouds passing over head but none of them are leaving us any rain.
Hi Chris I hope the rains come soon for you. Most of our QLD state is in a drought around 80% and we live in the part that has plenty of rain so we are very lucky; all though during our wet season I do moan a lot after 4 month of rain and if we get 5 months every one becomes rathe short tempered !!!!! Cheers Glenda
we too have been having septic problems due to the rain – we need really good gutters put on the house with the directed away from the house and septic area – now if the rain could clear long enough for us to do this! Love all your quilting.
I enjoy seeing the pictures of your garden. It is so different from my home. You are doing a wonderful job reworking the quilt.
Dear Glenda
Gardening is our summer project, fixing all the things the last owner did, which is sadly just the opposite of what one should do. Fixing it, is the best way to solve it. Your work is so well done, one would never know it has been given a makeover. The beach is sight for sorry eyes. Can not wait to walk on one, with the sand between my toes, and hearing the ocean.

Glenda, that is so true. Now I wonder how I got so much done when I had children at home. Now, I can’t manage cooking dinner, keeping the house AND quilting in the same day! It’s so odd isn’t it? Nope I can’t see the tucks, how nice of you to repair an old quilt. I think it’s looking great now that you’ve revived it.
You have such patience, Glenda! To restore that lovely quilt for your loved ones.
Always so interesting to see all the creatures that live around your house.
Not sure I enjoyed the story about the big spider and centipede in your bedroom. Eeks.
As for time, sigh, I haven’t stitched for ages and ages.
Hugs, Anne Marieke
