I finally found Esther 12 Days Of Christmas mystery BOM quilt we made several years ago. Love Love this quilt. It’s WOW again with Esther how the weeks fly past. !!!!
Now hanging inside since this morning
This has to be my favourite BOM of all times it was so much fun to make.
Close up of 6 of the charms they are backed and have a light weight padding inside them so can be changed if I want to.
Each month a new charm was uploaded and it took a month for me to make each one.
I added a large star on top of my tree.
I made my quilt larger than the original design incase one day it became a bed quilt????? So I added large candles either side of the tree.
Then added more presents .
Hanging the quilt outside for today as it has been stored the last 10 months in the cupboard. It still needs to be hand quilted or machine?????? It is sandwiched all ready to go and has been for several years now LOL another WIP of mine.
I have solved my problem with making those very difficult oak leaves for my LE I have unpicked the first two I made and will make them up in another fabric that will make making them a breeze!!!!!! I have also decided to make them in a darker fabric so there is more contrast between the ovals and the oak leaves.
I have removed the oak leaves I had here as they were so difficult to make and I kept putting off making the others I needed. I’m so glad I have removed them now as the dark fabric is going to look a lot better than the pale cream silk I had used.
I’m going to use a dark coloured silk fabric to add more contrast with the ovals all ready it looks more pleasing to the eye.
How Oh How did it get to Dec so quickly??????
Our sea never cooled down this year it was lovely to swim in all year,
This is my favourite beach to swim at, photo taken around 6pm during the week when we went down for a swim and dinner.
I’m baby sitting our neighbours bog Jersey while her mum and dad can visit friends and family in NZ She is scary to look at but so so loveable and just loves cuddles all day long,
For the last week poor Jersey has been trying to chase a wild turkey out of her yard as it is making a nest so far the turkey is winning.
This week in the garden I will share with you one of my favourite flowers the pink gingerIt starts out a beautiful bud then turns in to a piece of art that looks like it has been sculptured in glass even when it is dying it looks interesting.
These just popped out this morning!!!!
Taken at night time you have to look hard to see the frog sitting on the edge of the hanging basket?????
This was taken last week and you can now see it is completely out in the photo below
Now it is a perfect ball.
Thank you for dropping in to visit. I’m now off to visits and link up with Esther’s blog http://www.estheraliu.blogspot.com/ where she is having WIP’s or WOW I have a large coffee sitting beside me while I visit any links that may be there. Hope you join us there to. Cheers ALL Glenda
first off I just love your flowers they are so pretty and that beach scene – so serene, the Xmas wall hanging is so pretty glad you found it.
Hi Karen thanks for dropping in, as I sit here I can smell the bread cooking and the rain falling which I’m so thankful for as the rainforest trees need the rain so badly. I love the smell of bread cooking and coffee perking next best thing is sewing as well LOL My Xmas wall hanging was in the cupboard right under my nose I’d fold it so the backing was showing and I’d forgotten what the backing looked like LOL If I could just find some of my other WIP’s now I have been looking for for several years????? All though the beach is so so beautiful and serene most times there are crocs swimming along it often. Yesterday they caught a 1 1/2 metre croc in one of our beach swimming safety nets????? not some thing you want to find in there so it makes you a little nervous about swimming even in the safety nets when you see photo’s on the news of a croc in one!!!! I was swimming in one last week! Cheers Glenda
What a beautiful Christmas quilt, blooms, and LE workmanship! 🙂
Dear Deb thanks so much for dropping in and staying long enough to make a comment. Funny enough I have been in your blog the last hour looking at your photo’s from your local quilt show and the Nana;s Rose of Sharon jumped out at me as I brought some cut out blocks from the USA online about 13 years ago and there was no pattern or block fabric to appliqué the pieces to; after seeing this lovely vintage quilt I now know how these pieces were meant to end up. Life is strange here I was visiting you this morning while blog hopping and I have come back to find a comment from you. For any one who enjoys seeing other quilters beautiful quilts hung take time out to visit Deb’s blog. http://www.frugallittlebungalow.com/ Thanks again for visiting Deb Cheers Glenda
Dear Glenda
That pink flower, that you refer to, as it looks like glasss, that is almost the identical colour I have chosen for some of my LE flowers. I am still painting, LOL. Will get back to sewing after that!
Swimming in December, that is only a dream here. I so enjoy my visits to your home, it just looks so serene and peaceful. Your flowers are beautiful! LE is looking lovely, I hope you keep on and get the center finished. Are you going to add more of the pattern or is the center all you plan to create? Blessings, Gretchen
