Some one stole 1/2 my week this week!!!!
Even with sewing to midnight every night, the week flew past to quickly !
Im just uploading photo’s and hopefully I can write later in the day what Im doing here LOL
This was were I was up to last week trying to decide if to add the little Robins or not???? My big flowers are so over powering for the one bird.
Starting my DH block 2 with making the looly pop flowers first.
Large Lolly Pop flower, I cut out my back circle first then cut my top petals all out of the one piece of fabric, both have iron on fusing behind them.
My top for the large Lolly Pop flower notice Ive cut my petals out in one piece. Checking for contrast!
Making my small lolly pop flowers it was such fun using iron on fussing to make these.
Thinking about colours for my lilies now.
I like it!!!!
Even lovely on the black back ground.
Adding those stems using bias I’ve made and my first few leaves.
add a few tiny curls what fun.
Started off with a orange centre stem too but it was just to much orange for me.
Looks like I have a spider plant growing here LOL
To strong and dark dead centre I feel.
OK its growing but some thing is wrong????
Added a pale green centre stem its a little softer and lighter. Slowly adding those leaves that were a challenge till I did some latreal thinking LOL

This week I worked on my ANZ quilt top also. I missed placed the first 20 circles I cut out in Oct last year finally gave up looking to day and made 30 new ones I bet I will find the other ones now!!!!
Im about to make circles cut out of fabric with iron on fusing on the right and back side of the fabric.
a pile of circles all cut out with iron on fusing on them.
Dark side is the right side and the silver is the under side there is a lot of silver thread in this old kimono I’m using. SO its a great fabric from a quilters point of view.
Circles all ironed on and waiting to be machine appliquéd on.
Ive also been working on adding the binding to Joshua’s quilt, I have 3/4 of the binding sewn on and 1/4 of it turned over and hand stitched down.
I sashiko quilted this quilt I do enjoy doing the sashiko quilting, just wish I had learnt it years ago, may be I’d not have so many UFO tops if I had LOL
My DGD 4 and I spent an hour working in the garden this morning.
DGD standing in amongst the air roots that are metres long on the ground too before we cut them back.
NO air roots hanging down now. When you cut the air-roots they release an awful smell, see her holding her nose LOL
Still flowering to my delight, purple flowers are all new blooms.
Creppy crawlies have not eatten them so we still have them in the garden.
we set the trap for a large white tailed rat thats been on our terrace lately but caught this beautify wee local marsupial instead. Look how beautiful her fur is. They are not scared of people and are so gentle, Ive picked them up to relocate at times and they just sit docile in my hands. They hop like a miniature wee kangaroo.
She has been relocated.
Thank you for visiting I do like it when people drop in. Off to join up with Esther Aliu’s WOW or WIP’s today Cheers Glenda
Love watching how you put your work together. Using the iron on fusing the way you do, by putting it on all the fabric, just makes for a quicker result.
Those circles look interesting look forward to the end resul. Would love to see those kimono fabrics in the flesh.
Could not make out your little robins, they looked like berries at first. Your block is gorgeous
wow Glenda you have been busy! It is all looking wonderful, I love seeing your garden, it reminds me of ours when we lived on Borneo – Cold and wet here today (SE England) can’t wait for my summer roses 🙂
Your applique blocks is beautiful! And flowers! Still cold here, no flowers yet. Enjoy the time with your granddaughter. Yesterday my DIL took the almost 5 year-old grandson to Kindergarten round-up and enrolled him to start school in August. I’m going to miss Tuesdays with Grandma.
Crikey! You’ve been really busy again this week, haven’t you! I bet that you are right and that you do find those pre-fused circles very quickly now. You applique is looking great – the colours really popping on the black – wonderful!
love all your projects and you are making such great progress with all of them. I love that little animal that you show and hope the trap catches the rat that you mention soon. Love all your exotic plants and your granddaughter is so cute
Hi Karen we set the trap again last night and caught the white tailed rat he filled that cage up!!!! They can be very vicious and I don’t like them when they move on to our verandas as Im scared one of the Grandies my corner them by accident and be bitten. So when we see droppings on the patio of front terrace we set the trap and relocate them by car in to the forest about 10 min drive away. When one is removed another one moves in they are very territorial, after about 5 or 6 months they start to get cheeky and move to close to the house. This is the only creature that we relocate. I was worried that my little tiny marsupial might get caught again so we put the trap up high, we use peanut butter to catch them they can no resist it LOL Hugs Glenda
Dear Glenda
We once visited a friends house, all of a sudden I had a visitor on my shoulder. It was their pet rat, which to them is a member of the family and nothing out of the ordinary. I just watched it and did not say a word. Afterwards her son said to me, lots of people freak out when the rat appears. Considering I had pet frogs as a kid, it was kind of funny. Nature is all around us, if it was a hippo and it disappeared under the water, then I would be scared, especially if I was on a boat. Your Diamond Hill is looking beautiful!
How pretty! You’ve made a lot of progress this week.
Hi there Glenda,
Always enjoy ‘visiting your place’. Warwick was very interested in your little visitor and is currently trying to find out what it was – do you have any idea?
Cheers Wendy
I think he is a Rufous Beton belongs to the kangaroo family even has a tiny pouch. Commonly called rat kangaroo. He is so cute and adorable about the size of a filed mouse but has a dense long thick reddish fur coat. Cheers Glenda
